Magnus (AMANDA TAPPING) is reunited with an old friend, Jimmy (MICHAEL SHANKS) who is transporting a valuable elemental Abnormal to the Sanctuary for safety.
But an underground mob accustomed to cashing in on the Abnormal black market, tracks down Jimmy and his valuable cargo before the delivery is complete. Magnus and Jimmy find themselves in a dangerous shootout, determined to save the Abnormal. Will (ROBIN DUNNE), Kate (AGAM DARSHI) and Henry (RYAN ROBBINS) are quick on the scene as backup. Kate proves her worth when she manages to get Jimmy and the Abnormal to safety. But not before taking a shot from one of the mobsters herself.
Hiding out in an abandoned, derelict motel room until the immediate danger of the mob passes, Jimmy tends to Kate’s gunshot wound. With little to do but talk and wait for Magnus to find them, Jimmy and Kate discover an unexpected common history.

Amanda Tapping during an interview with Jenna Busch :
I actually wanted to ask you about your upcoming guest stars. I just spoke with Michael Shanks and he talked a little about his role on Sanctuary. He didn't really give me any details though. Can you tell me about his episode?
Oh, it was awesome to have him. And there is actually a really cool scene where Helen and Jimmy, the character that Michael plays, see each other for the first time in the episode, and it's so genuine. We're both just grinning from ear to ear. It was really sweet. It was a really nice moment for Michael and I. But what we did ... we really wanted to get him on the show because he's such a good actor and a friend. And we didn't want it to be the Amanda and Michael show. We didn't want it to be Daniel and Sam. We didn't want to fall into those old rhythms. And for Michael too. He felt the same way that we did. We wanted to bring him back but not make it just about the two of us. So in actual fact, we don't have a lot of scenes together. Most of his scenes are with Agam who plays Kate Freelander. And he plays this abnormal who is carrying a rather volatile creature, and it's sort of about his escape from the mob and the history between him and Kate and their backstory. You find out a lot more about Kate's backstory, and a lot about Jimmy's backstory. It's a really sweet episode. It's a tough episode. But he blew us away. He did a great job.

Former Stargate SG-1 star Michael Shanks will appear in an episode of SCI FI's Sanctuary in its upcoming second season, Shanks' managers at JDS in Los Angeles told SCI FI Wire.
Shanks reunites with his former SG-1 co-star Amanda Tapping, who stars in and produces Sanctuary, in episode 209, entitled "Penance," which begins filming next week in Vancouver, Canada; he'll play a character named Jimmy.
