But the creature soon returns, even angrier than before and Magnus and Will quickly learn they are not its only adversary.
Syfy Synopsis
Magnus (AMANDA TAPPING) and Will (ROBIN DUNNE) are called to make a straightforward retrieval of a rare Abnormal off the coast of Louisiana. With a commissioned helicopter, the retrieval is successful and their cargo securely on board. But as the pair starts heading back to the mainland, something causes the unusual sea creature to break loose. Unable to control the Abnormal and the helicopter simultaneously, Magnus and Will make a crash landing and find themselves entangled in guy wire, precariously dangling over an abandoned oil bore well several feet above the water in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.
With the Abnormal nowhere to be found, Magnus concludes it has made its getaway into the depths of the water. But their solitude doesn’t last long. Not only does the Abnormal return, it’s even angrier than before. And Magnus and Will quickly learn they must escape or become its next victim.

“I’ve just written an episode called Next Tuesday where Magnus and Will are stuck in the central well of a decommissioned oil rig. They’ve been trying to transport a sea monster to the Sanctuary, but their helicopter becomes tangled up in the guide wires hanging above the well and this creature escapes. And to make matters worse, there’s a second monster, too. We shot the episode on this cool set where we got to spend some time with Magnus and Will. I wanted to give you a chance to watch these two people bickering about their lives. Yes, there’s a monster and how are our heroes going to get out of there, but more important is the question of what happens when you spend 30 or 40 minutes of almost real time with your two leads talking to each other as people. Our goal was to have an ongoing personal conflict between Magnus and Will and watch that get resolved while being sure we told a cool monster story.”

I also hear you have one episode that was shot almost entirely in the water.
Yeah! This is the torture Amanda and Robin season! [laughs] I think that Martin and Damian go out for dinner and cackle in a corner about how they can torture us. This was one of those episodes. It's called “Next Tuesday” (airing December 4th) and it takes place in an abandoned oil rig. Will and Magnus are on a helicopter that crashes...so we're hanging from these wires just above the water. And of course we fall into the water. There's a mutated vampire squid and a scorpion fighting it out. So we spent five days in a huge pool, seventy feet wide and fourteen feet deep. It was used for a feature and we managed to piggyback on the end of the feature and use the pool, which was brilliant. So yeah, we spent five days in this pool. It was fun and exhausting. You know, it's always fun, but we were bagged by the end of it. And it was right after the episode I had directed, so, yeah.

The eighth ep is called "Next Tuesday" and is a "helicopter ep" that was "sadistic" for Amanda and Robin. Will Zimmerman and Magnus are transporting a rare abmornal off of an oil rig (in Mexico?).The abnormal wakes up, gets upset and the helicopter goes down in an oil well in the middle of the ocean, with the helicopter suspended above them and a nest of wires. Amanda, Robin and director Martin Wood spent five days in wetsuits for this ep and they did not use stunt people. According to Robin, by day 4 the water was really crowded with "debris." According to Martin, it was really impressive to see Amanda hold her breath for 94 seconds.
